After this winter's rains, there is a lot of debris in the water that needs to be hauled out. T We had a GREAT day on the River. We floated between Wohler Bridge and Memorial Beach, using rafts generously supplied by our our sponsors at Russian River Adventures. 27 volunteers pulled out 35 tires - a total of 2,080 pounds of trash in 4 hours! Afterwards we relaxed with an awesome barbecue lunch and refreshments. We repeated this effort on September 16 in a HUGE action covering the entire river. GREAT JOB to all the volunteers and organizations who took part! A 1.3 mile section of the creek, previously straightened and with little vegetation, has been restored into a stream with natural contours and habitat features.
